Mounjaro Isn’t Cheating: Why I’m Choosing the Tools That Work for Me

It’s 5:06am right now.

I’ve been awake since almost 2am. I spend my weekends largely trying to sleep, but somehow it never ends up with me feeling rested enough to function fully. Given I have a combination of sleep apnea and being overweight, this isn’t healthy in the long term.

I’m pretty sure the reason I’m struggling to sleep lies with me not having replaced my mask and tubing. I replaced the straps around the mask, but the actual mask is expensive. Replacing the entire mask, straps and all, runs about 100-ish dollars on some sites. A friend of mine is sending masks to me and hopefully that gets me on the right path

I’m also taking Mounjaro – which I feel the need to hide since there’s a ton of anger right now at people who take it as they see it a cheat to losing weight. I see it the same way that I see using any AI tool – it’s simply that; a tool.

To get upset and demand a person chose the way they did – workouts, gym visits, elaborate meals that work better for you body – is an understandable thing to push when that’s how you’ve done it. For many reasons, none of that has worked for him.

Mounjaro does because for me it’s all about the mental. I can make a meal that is healthy for me that I torpedo by eating fast food. I can get a gym membership and never go to it after a few times. I can workout, but many of the workouts aren’t possible with the way my knees are.

All of these to those who prefer those other methods sound-like excuses, but this is my reality. I shape the way that I solve this problem and I work it according to what I can afford and what I have energy for. Since it’s damn near almost zero outside of work, something as simple as Mounjaro helps me.

Me writing about this will hopefully be my way of keeping track of things
